Abia Warriors coach
Laddan Bosso is optimistic he will pick one of the three continental tickets in the Nigeria league this season.
The top two teams in the league will represent the country in next year’s CAF Champions League, while the third-placed team feature in the Confederation Cup.
Abia Warriors are currently fifth on the table with 37 points from 24 matches.
”From all indications, we are right on track towards achieving our set target for the season. We don’t wish to be tagged too ambitious so, we want to pursue a continental ticket and bring continental football to the loving people of Abia State,” the vastly experienced Bosso told newsmen.
Abia Warriors, who is playing in the top flight for the first time this season, showed top class when they fought back to  draw 3-3 with local rivals, Enyimba last weekend.
Bosso said he was delighted with the cracking game produced by both teams in Umuahia on Sunday.
”It was a good game that could have gone either way and I am satisfied with the outcome,” he said.
”Having lost in Aba, I expected Enyimba to come to Umuahia to fight like wounded lions and I was not disappointed with what they gave and the way we responded.
”The game was a perfect advertisement for our league.
”Abia Warriors have come to stay and rub shoulders with the top sides of the continent. We are not looking back. We have all it takes to do well in the league and a continental ticket will be a modest way of showing our appreciation to our supporters, but this does not mean that if we have the opportunity of been crowned champions, we will throw it away.
An 88th  equaliser from Chisom Chikatara earned Abia Warriors a valuable point in the local derby against Enyimba.
They twice went in front through Chima Uluocha and Ifeanyi Onyeali on eighth and 18th minutes, while Enyimba had Mfom Udoh, Uwadiegwu Ugwu and Rasheed Olabiyi to thank for their goals on 15th, 35th and 67th minutes.
