2014 NSF: Rivers Thai Boxers Eye Laurels

State Thai Boxing Association, Ngozi Okabie, has reiterated the determination of the team to win gold medals in the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Calabar, Cross River State later this year.
Okabie, who gave the assurance Monday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt said that the athletes are in high spirit and prepared for the sport fiesta.
According to him, the team is working hard to ensure that it wins laurels and bring glory to the state.
He said that the team has embarked on serious preparations in order to compete favourably at the fiesta in order to achieve set targets for the 2014 NSF. “We are building up on physical fitness, skills, standards and now rules of the sport is to enable us compete well in their chosen sport,” he said.
He also said that the association is waiting for a go ahead order for the sports ministry to go into the second phase of the camping to further prepare for the competition.
“We are waiting for the second phase of preparations to fortify and enhance our performance so far,” Okabia said.
