1,177 Get NDDC Free Medicare In Abia

Over 1,177 people
have received free treatment for sight, dental and other ailments, as a result of  collaboration between  the Niger Delta Development commission (NDDC) and Universal Medicare Foundation for  a free medical programme at Owaza community, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.
The leader of the medical team, Professor Ejele Adelayo Oseikhuemen, lauded the NDDC for providing this free health mission for the rural people. According to him, “Good health is better than money” stating that over 1,177 general outpatient cases have been under taken by the team”.
Flagging off the ceremony, the Managing Director of NDDC, Sir Bassey Dan-Abia, represented by the Abia State Representative on the Board of NDDC, Mr. Samuel Okezie Nwogu, noted that Commission would ensure that this Free Health Mission is carried out two times in a year, as a way to alleviate the suffering of the rural people.
He added that other programmes like Skills Acquisitions, education empowerment shall be introduced to help the youths in the Niger Delta region.
Speaking earlier, the Abia State Director, Mr. Anietie Usen said NDDC free medical mission is back to Ukwa again and has made impact on the people.  “The primary purpose of this mission is to bring Free Health Mission to the door step of the people of Ukwa”, he said.
In his response, the Paramount ruler of Owaza community, HRH Eze Young Ogbonna thanked the Federal Government for the quality of men on the Board of NDDC, for bringing such a laudable programme to the people of Ukwa and called on the NDDC Board to perform creditably well in the discharge of their duties.
