The trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Rivers State Chapter has denied supporting the strike action embarked upon by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) Rivers State Chapter.
Speaking to The Tide, the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Chike Onuegbu said TUC believes in dialogue as the necessary panacea to strike action.
Onuegbu said the silence of the TUC Leadership over the ongoing strike was to seek for meaningful ways to resolve the impasse between the JUSUN and relevant authorities by providing adequate security for the union members and properties.
He said TUC as a union of experienced Senior Staff would always want issues to be discussed or resolved amicably without necessary strike action.
He called for the quick resolution of the issues that led to the strike action by the relevant authorities in the interest of justice administration in the state.
He urged the Leadership of the Nigerian Bar Assocation (NBA) to intervene in resolving the issues for JUSUN to call off the strike action that has paralysed justice administration in the state for the past one month now.
Onuegbu also appealed to JUSUN to consider the interest of the common man and suspend the strie.
