Telecommunication
subscribers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, have decried the poor network services that have moved business transaction in the state in recent times.
The subscribers, who spoke separately with our reporter in Port Harcourt, said the telecommunication systems in the country are not doing well.
One Nancy Adokiye, said that the network providers in the country are not sensitive to subscribers plight.
She said it was unfortunate that Nigerian consumers are not forceful over issues that concern them directly, stressing that consumers in some western countries can go on rampage on the slightest “breach” on their right or services.
She also described all the regulatory agencies as toothless bull dog, saying that is about time they rise up to the challenge.
In his view, John Orlunwo, accused some top government functionaries of conniving with the telecom operators to short-change subscribers in the country.
He pointed out that top government functionaries would have acted in opposite direction if their hands were clean as nothing stops the lawmakers in the country from sponsoring bill that would end subscribers’ plight.
Orlunwo, however called on the ministry of Communication technology to wade into the situation and rescue the masses from telecom providers oppression.
Others also accused the network operators of only minding their profits, saying that they should work out modalities on how to repay subscribers in the country who have contributed generously to their bank accounts.
