For duping a land
seeker of his hard earned money, an agent in Rumuekini in Akpor Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, one Mr Moses Worlu has been arrested by security operatives.
The Tide reliably gathered that the said agent allegedly sold a plot of land to one Mr ThankGod Amadi for the sum of N1.8million.
According to the source, the sum of N1.2 million was deposited but that the said land agent renegotiated with another buyer, at the cost of N2.2 million.
The agent spent the money he got from the second buyer, when the first buyer who has some military connection resurfaced to pay the balance.
The Tide gathered that after some weeks, Mr ThankGod utilised his military connection to arrest the fraudulent agent.
The whole process took Mr Worlu by surprise, as military men stormed his house last Thursday, for his inability to make a refund or release the necessary particulars of the land to Mr ThankGod.
It was gathered that intervention of people from the neighbourhood could not save him, as he was carried away forcefully.
Although the agent’s ordeal was quite unfortunate, as he could not lay hand on immediate cash, but the first buyer also insisted on interest on the amount paid for the land.
