Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, have called on the government to come to their aid by providing motorable road.
The farmers mostly women who came out in their numbers to protest the development recently said with the setting in of the rains, they found it difficult in transport their farm produce to Ndele market.
One of the women who gave her name as Ada while speaking to our correspondent said they were basically farmers and without good roads they find it difficult to move their products.
She said their major means of transport was by foot and  bicycle even as she said they could not ride their bicycles  under such conditions.
Another woman who spoke under anonymity, said with the condition of the road, she was unable to move her produce to the market, a development she claimed cost her loss of harvested produce.
She said at her age, she could not manage the road as her younger counterparts do either by foot or bicycle.
The affected communities, Rumuodogo one and two according to a retired educationist, Mr Nfata Mathias have already been cut off from other communities.
He said some years ago, the state government and NDDC promised them the provision of road, water, electricity and other infrastructure but so far these promises has not been fulfilled.
According to Mathias, the development has discouraged most farmers in cultivating large farms in order to check wastage.
He said during the raining season, farmers in the community always expect excess of produce, which enable them make income through sale within and especially outside the community.
He explained that since the people were predominantly farmers, it was difficult to sell among them, even as he said with no good road, taking such products to other places for sale has become a problem.
On the already graded road from the East West Road leading to the community, he said was done more than a year ago.
According to him, when the grading of the road began, the people were very happy and even commended the contractor.
However efforts to speak with the reagent of the community, Oha Michael Uchebule on the matter was not successful as he was said to be out of town.
But some of the youths, mostly motorcyclists who spoke to our correspondent said the provision of the road would determine where their votes would go to come 2015.
