The Rivers State Cycling
Association is set to hold her monthly competition tomorrow in Port Harcourt.
The competition which is amongst cyclists with states in the Niger Delta region is expected to kickoff at the usual venue, Olumeni street, old GRA in Port Harcourt.
According to the head coach of the team, Emmanuel Onosanya, the monthly programme is geared toward preparing athletes for the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival and other engagements.
He said that the event would help to enhance the performance of Rivers athletes and keep them fit in order to compete favourably when the centenary spirits festival gets underway.
“The athletes are doing their best, so far they have proved their worth and I am sure that they would make the state proud at the forthcoming NSF scheduled to hold in Calabar later this year”, he said.
Other states expected to participate in the event include Bayelsa, Edo, Delta, Akwa-Ibom and Cross River State.
It would be recalled that prizes at the event were converted to cash at the last month’s edition of the competition.
