Nigeria Improves In FIFA Rankings

Nigeria has climbed 10
spots to 34th in the latest world rankings, released by FIFA yesterday.
The Super Eagles, who reached the last-16 of the World Cup where they lost 2-0 to France, are now ranked third in Africa, behind Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire.
A triumphant Germany is aptly number one globally, ahead of Argentina, who they edged 1-0 in last week’s World Cup Final.
Tournament hosts Brazil slipped four spots to seventh following their fourth-placed showing at the sporting spectacle.
Netherlands, who beat the Samba Boys 3-0 in the third place playoff, jumped 12 places to third.
Spain were at the summit prior to their first-round elimination and are now eighth.
The World’s top 10 are Germany, Argentina, Netherlands, Colombia, Belgium, Uruguay, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, France, while Africa’s top 10 are 1 Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana, Tunisia, Guinea, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Mali.
