NAHCO Handles 2.9m International Passengers

Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance) said it handled over 2.9 million international passengers in 2013.
The Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, Mallam Suleiman Yahyah, made the disclosure in an interaction with newsmen Tuesday, on the growth and progress of the company.
Yahyah said the flights represent the operations of the company in Kano, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja airports.
“In 2012, the total passengers handled by the company were 2,664,4422 but in 2013, it rose to 2,979,518 which represents 12 per cent increase,” he said.
According to him, Lagos recorded the highest figure with 2,017,191, followed by Abuja with 730,628, Kano 119,011 and Port Harcourt with 109,011.
The NAHCO boss hinted that the company has completed registration formalities in Dakar, Senegal and would begin operation before the year ends. The Liberia Office was inaugurated last year.
“Cote d’Ivorie is next on the line which is part of our vision of spreading the company’s presence in Africa,” Yahyah said.
He further disclosed that the company’s asset base had risen to N14 billion from N11 billion in 2012 adding that a 30kobo per share dividend for the 2013 financial year has been proposed up from 25kobo declared in 2012.
