Man, 20 , Killed Over N2,000 Debt

Monday in Benin City, the capital of Edo State when a young simply identified as Frederick, 20, was stabbed to death in the ancient city.
An eye witness told The Tide’s source that trouble began when Frederick went to his debtor friend, Oruma to ask for the payment of his N2,000.00 which the later had borrowed from him some time ago.
But either Oruma did not want to pay or he did not have the money as altercation ensued on creditor’s insistence that he wanted to go with his money.
However, Oruma did not want to let go, an eye witness said.
The eye witnessed said rather than being remorseful, Oruma was boastful and dared Frederick to do his worst. “Consequently, a scuffled between the two friends ensued and the debtor rushed to the corner of the room and picked a broken bottle, with which he thrust into the neck of the creditor-friend and tore open the flesh, having cut the veins on the side of the neck”.
According to the eye witness, “Frederick bled profusely as his shirt was covered with blood”.
He said that taxi-drivers could not convey him to hospital as he looked pale he had lost a lot of blood.
The eye witnessed explained that when the neigbours saw that Frederick was losing strength they decided to convey him in a wheel barrow to government hospital that was already on strike and there was no body to treat him.
The eye witness said that since he could not be treated for several hours, he finally gave up the ghost.
He also that the Police had gone to question the hospital before Frederick died.
