Institute To Create 2,500 New Jobs

Board of the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR), Benin,  Sen. Lee Meaba, said on Thursday that the institute had the capacity to create 2,500 jobs.
Meaba said this in Benin when he led other board members and management staff of the institute on a courtesy visit to Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo.
He said that the board was willing to collaborate with the state government on job creation, adding that the efforts would be more beneficial to the people of the state.
Meaba said the collaboration would also help in improving the economic growth of the state as well as providing better life for the people and  requested the state government to provide 5,000 hectares of land for the institute’s expansion.
Responding, Oshiomhole promised to grant the request for land.
He urged members of the board to examine the possibility of advertising and promoting products of the institute such as palm wine and palm oil.
