Gokana Utd FC Focuses On Promotion …Hosts Lobi Stars Jnr, Sunday

flagbearers in the Nationwide amateur league and one solely sponsored by a local government council Gokana United Football Club of Gokana has reiterated its desire to gain promotion to the national amateur Division one league next season.
Currently campaigning in the amateur division Turo B, Gokana United is leading the log on superior goals difference, having chalked up maximum points from matches played so far.
Consequently, management and players of the club have promised to sustain their impressive run in the league as action in the division resumes this weekend following the 2014 World Cup induced recess.
On Sunday Gokana United is billed to host Lobi Stars, Junior FC of Katsina-Ala in a potentially explosive encounter and they have vowed to continue from where they left off by ensuring comprehensive victory in the tie.
Speaking at the end of one of the club’s training sessions this week, the team manager of the side, Ambassador Solomon Lah recalled that the team had recorded a clean slate in all competitive matches played at its home ground, Gokana Central Stadium in addition to the famous draw result with the national team, the Super eagles during the stadium’s opening ceremony.
Ambassador Lah expressed optimism that with the level of support and motivation they are getting from their sponsors, and the commitment of the players, the feat would be sustained to guarantee promotion to division one at the end of the season.
Also speaking, media officer of the club, Martins Giadom said that everything had been put in place for a hitch-free game on Sunday and that the players were in high spirits hoping to deliver against the visitors.
He enjoined fans of the club and all football lovers to throng the Gokana central Stadium on Sunday and cheer the team to victory.
