Federation Cup: Dolphins Look Beyond 1/4 Finals
The technical adviser of
Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma has said that his players are working hard to advance beyond the quarter finals of the on-going Federation Cup.
He described the team’s victory against El Kanemi fc as hard earned one, saying that the players are showing more sense of commitment.
Eguma stated this in an interview with sports journalists, shortly after Dolphins won El Kanemi Warriors 1-0 in one of the round of 16 matches, last Thursday.
“We had to over work our capacity to get victory today. It is a sign of good things to come and we believe that we can go on to win the trophy like we did in the past” Eguma said.
Also speaking equally the head coach of El Kanemi Warriors fc, Salisu Yusuf said Dolphins had the chance and they utilised it to carry the day.
According to him, the referee was expected to award penalty, saying that he would not think much about the penalty that was not given after Dolphins players, Hope Fiberesima handled the ball in the box.
“We thought it was a penalty, but we can’t do anything if the referee said it wasn’t a penalty.
It is normal in football. They had a chance and scored while we made one wrong calculation and they capitalised on it. We will just concentrate on what is left of the League” Yusuf said.
