ESUT Students Escape Death In Auto Fire

Tragedy was averted
in Enugu, the Enugu State capital, last Thursday, when students of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) narrowly escaped being burnt to death in a luxury bus in which they were travelling.
The students were returning from the Agbani campus of the university when the bus caught fire, few metres away from the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS), Enugu and the Nigerian Television Authority, (NTA), Enugu. The timely alert by  detached policemen from Independence Layout, Enugu, that saved the lives of the students.
One of the survivors, who simply gave her name as Vivian, said security operatives suddenly stopped the driver, raising the alarm that fire was oozing out from the vehicle.
“We were saved by God through the policemen who were coming behind us. They stopped our vehicle and shouted to us to come down quickly. We jumped out. I thank God nobody died in the inferno,” she said.
When our source visited the scene, passers-by were seen thanking God for the safety of the students.
