Enyeama Denies Quitting S’ Eagles
Nigeria goalkeeper
Vincent Enyeama has denied insinuations that he is on the verge of calling time on his international career.
Speaking at the annual Ibom Football Awards in Uyo, Enyeama assured that he is still a part of the national team, suggesting that his statements on his future may have been quoted out of context.
“I never said I will never play for Super Eagles again. I only said I will consult with my family which is the normal thing to do. I am still very much a national team player,” the Lille goalkeeper said.
Enyeama received an award for excellence presented by the Guvaps Management, organizers of the event, and the 31-year-old was by elated by the honour.
“I am really pleased with this award. I want to thank the Guvaps Management for this. I have won many accolades in my career but to be honoured by my people in Akwa Ibom State is special.
“Charity begins at home so this means a lot to me. I will continue working harder to achieve even more,” he said.
