Bayelsa Tasks Commissioner On Housing Scheme

The newly sworn-in-
Commissioner for Housing in Bayelsa State, Mr Nimi Bofa Ayawei, has been given the task to midwife a major housing scheme that will benefit the generality of the people, across the state.
The state governor, Seraki Dickson who said this in Yenegoa recently explained that the state wants to see a Mega housing project, across the state to reduce housing challenges.
He said you are already conversant with some of the initiatives that we have in the housing sector. We want to see mega housing projects, not only in Yenagoa, so that we can reduce the challenges we are facing in the area.
In few months from now, we want to see housing estates in local government areas, some of these projects have started in some of our communities and council headquarters.
So, working with your colleagues, you are expected to midwife the delivery of a robust housing project in the state in no distant time.
The governor underscored the critical role tourism plays in modern economies, and noted that efforts are underway to establish a school of tourism in the state to meet the manpower needs of the subsector.
He also described the state government’s decision to host major tourism and entertainment related events as a welcome development, adding that the state government have taken in the past two years to market and reposition have started yielding tremendous fruits in all the sectors.
