Authority Tasks Waterfront Dwellers On Sanitation

vironmental Sanitation Authority (RSESA), has appealed to residents of waterfronts in Port Harcourt, to ensure regular cleanliness of their environment.
The Sole Administrator of the Authority, Mr Ade Adeogun who said this at Okrika waterfront during last weekend’s sanitation exercise also urged them to always bring their refuse to the road for refuse collectors to access them.
Mr Adeogun, who spoke through his press secretary,  Mr Olalekan Ige said that the authority would soon begin to prosecute defaulters of sanitation exercises in the city.
The Sole Administrator blamed the problem of  refuse disposal in the city on the attitude of the people and urged for a change of atitude.
He said that the authority would now embark on regular sanitation across the waterfronts with the view to ensuring that waterfronts are kept clean.
Mr Adeogun also told them that the Rivers State Waste Management Bill already passed by the Rivers State House of Assembly will make it compulsory for every households in the state to participate in every cleanliness.
The Sole Administrator also warned against dumping refuse into gutters as well as building on water right of ways as it would cause flooding in the city.
