The Senator representing
Rivers South East in the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would trounce the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State in the next general elections.
Senator Abe who gave the assurance on Wednesday during a visit to Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area as part of his ongoing ‘Thank You’ visit to his constituency, said that politics in the State would be redefined in 2015 with the electorate as the ultimate decider.
The lawmaker alleged that some Abuja based politicians were planning to mortgage the future of the state and therefore, urged the people to resist such attempt by voting them out.
According to him, ‘’ I came to thank all of you specially for the support you have been giving the party, the Governor,Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi and me. I am also happy that you are still together and the APC is intact.’’.
He said some politicians hated Governor Amaechi for eliminating political  middle men who were in the habit of cornering what belonged to the people.
“What happens in Nigerian politics is that political middlemen sit in the middle between the government and the people, pocket all that was to come to the community and enrich themselves.
“Amaechi now brought dividends of democracy directly to you and eliminated middlemen. The education, schools, health centres, roads, sand filing he had built, were some money the middle men were collecting on your behalf, but the governor decided to execute it directly, that is why they are against him’’, he said.
The lawmaker later presented over 1000 wrappers to women of the area and also empowered some party members in the local government area for their support for the party.
