ABOLGA Unity Cup Kicks-Off, Saturday

The Local Organising
Committee (LOC) of the 5th edition of Abua/Odual Local Government Unity Cup said it has concluded arrangements for the kick off of this year’s tournament.
Media Officer of the LOC, Mr. Sunday Kenodi said in a statement which was made available to Tidesports that the matches would be played at the County  School field, Abua Central.
The statement also disclosed that 16 teams registered for the tournament and that the opening match would be between the defending Champion, United Brothers Football Club and Home Boys Nationale.
According to him, the opening match and other matchers would be entertaining, stating that four female teams also registered for the 2014 edition of the championship.
The competition which is being sponsored by the Abua/Odual Local Government All Stars Football Club is aimed at complimenting the peace efforts of the state government towards promotion of unity and discovering of budding talents in the area.
The competition is expected to start on 4th of October, 2014.
The LOC Chairman however, appealed to sports loving people of the area to avail themselves of recreation and refreshing moments by watching entertaining football games throughout the competitions.
