2015: Rivers APC Positions For Victory …Inaugurates 11 Committees
As the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter inaugurates its eleven Committees, the State Governor and leader of the Party, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has charged the newly constituted members of the committees to work towards victory for the party come 2015 elections.
Amaechi, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, gave the charge yesterday at the inauguration of the Rivers State Chapter of APC Committees in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The party leader told members of the eleven committees that they were carefully selected as the life-wire of the party to go on door-to-door mobilization of Rivers people for change come 2015 elections.
He charged them to do everything possible to ensure the party wins in the state and Nigeria in general.
“Because, the party carefully selected everyone of you as the life-wire of this great party in the state, remember the party is in your hands.
“Do every thing possible, as if your life depends on it, go on door-to-door mobilization our people, we cannot continue to be slaves, Rivers people must be liberated; we must work for change in the state”, Amaechi charged the members.
The Governor congratulated the Committee members, assuring them that victory will be theirs come 2015 election in the country and Rivers State.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Party in the state, Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya had said that the Committees were set-up to put the party together as provided in the APC Constitution to ensure the party was adequately prepared to win 2015 elections in the state.
He said members across the state were selected to form eleven committees with no fewer than 21 members each.
According to him, the inauguration of the Committees marks the beginning of the party’s work to change the political landmark in the development of the state.
The party’s chieftain, who noted that the assignment was tasking, urged them to see it as very important to put APC government back to power in Rivers State, and all the political positions at the federal level.
Speaking on behalf of the Committees, the Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe assured that the committees would do their best to ensure that the party was not disappointed come 2015.
Abe, who requested for the party members’ cooperation, said the committees would put every thing in place to ensure APC members were elected into the National Assembly, as governor of the state, and all elected positions in Rivers State, and beyond.
