Supreme Court FC Allays Fears Of Technical Adviser
The Team Manager of
Supreme Court Football Club, Tolulope Oguntimehin, has assured that the roles of the club’s new Technical Adviser would not clash with that of the club’s coaches.
Oguntimehin told newsmen last Wednesday in Abuja that the club’s management had a specific reason for bringing in the new Technical Adviser (TA).
The management of the Abuja-based club had on May 18 announced Fatai Osho, a former Kogi United FC coach, as the club’s new TA.
Oguntimehin said Osho was to help the club gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“There won’t be any clash of roles between Osho and the head coach, Henry Haggai, as well as with the other technical crew members.
“This is because none of the coaches were laid off for him to come in and as the TA, he will be held responsible if anything goes wrong in the team.
“As the TA, he takes charge of the team and he is meant to give advice and help the coaches to do better,’’ Oguntimehin said.
He said the club management expected Osho to bring his experience to bear in the team, pointing out that the other coaches had not been able to do so.
“We believe Osho will be able to bring in his experience, because he was able to get Remo Stars Football Club of Ogun promoted by the end of the 2012/2013 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
“None of the coaches we have on ground before he came in has that kind of experience. So, we expect them to learn from him, while he achieves our target for us.
“We are doing all these to protect the interest of the club, which we are placing above any personal interest,’’ the Supreme Court FC’s team manager said.
Oguntimehin however said the break to be embarked on by the NNL during the 2014 World Cup would afford Osho more opportunity to spend time with the players.
“It is a fortunate thing for us at the club that the league will be put on hold after the week 18 matches because of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
