Okorocha Plans Endowment Fund For Igbo Films

Okorocha of Imo State says his government will institute an endowment fund of N100 million for movie makers in the state to enable them produce ‘films with focus on Igbo culture, scripted in Igbo language’.
Okorocha who stated this at Owerri in  his ‘State of the Imo Address’ to mark his third year anniversary in office commended the film makers for their talents and for using same to make the state proud.
Okorocha used the opportunity to enumerate the various projects initiated and completed by his government in the last three years which, he said, included the completion of the twin Government House Offices for the Deputy Governor and the wife of the governor.
Others, according to him, include the Ikemba Nnewi Centre, the Heroes Square, Imo Diagnostic Centre, the Young Scientists College, the International Conference Centre and the renovation of the Concorde Hotel, among others.
Okorocha also used the occasion to declare his interest to remain with the All Progressive Congress (APC) and dispelled insinuations that he had moved to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He said that it was only through APC that the Igbos would be remembered in the highest political cadre and called on all politicians to respect the rule of law and always allow justice to prevail.
The governor commended members of his expanded State Executive Council for their support and encouragement during his three years in office and urged them to sustain the tempo.
At a breakfast meeting with media organisations in the state last Tuesday, Okorocha had explained that he was able to embark on about 100 projects at a time because of his prudent use of resources.
He said that he had also not fully followed the due process of governance because of its tendency to slow down progress of work as a result of bureaucratic bottle necks.
