Man Docked For Stealing Handsets

A 22-year old man,
identified as Chukwuemeka has been arraigned before a Port Harcourt for allegedly stealing a techno handsets worth of N4,000 in suit number PMC/805C/14.
The accused person is standing trial on two count charge of stealing, breaking and entry before chief Magistrate Ipalibo F. Iyiabo.
The accused was said to have broken into the house of one Daniel Okpan on May 1, 2014 at Elekahia in the Port Harcourt City local government area within the Jurisdiction of the Port Harcourt Magisterial  District.
The accused however plead not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Citing section 118 Sub-section 2 of the criminal procedure, the counsel for the accused, Barr E. Ogbodo, applied for his bail, saying that his client has a reasonable surety and would always appear whenever the matter would be called upon.
The police prosecutor, Insp, Wilson Isaiah did not object to the oral bail application made by the accused counsel.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, I.F. Iyiabo after hearing the bail application by the accused counsel, granted the accused bail of one Hundred thousand Naira (100,000) with one surety, and address to be verified by the prosecutor.
The matter was adjourned to June 24, 2014 for hearing.
