Man, 30, Remanded For Attempted Murder

A 30-year-old man,
Zorzor Agent, from Ogoni axis residing at Rainbow Town in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly attempting to kill one Murtala Adamu with a knife.
Th accused person, Zorzor Agent, 30, is standing trial on one count charge of attempt to kill before Chief Magistrate I.F. Iyiabo on charge sheet No. PMC/991C/2014.
The police prosecutor told the court that the accused person, Zorzor Agent on 3rd day of June, 2014 at Rainbow Town, Port Harcourt in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did attempt to kill one Murtala Adamu “m” by cutting him on the head and fingers, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 320(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Vol ll Laws of Rivers State, 1999.
The presiding Chief Magistrate I.F. Iyiabo, remanded the accused person in  prison custody and ordered the original case file be forwarded to the DPP for legal advice.
He, however, told the accused that he was at liberty to approach a High Court for his bail, and later adjourned the matter to August 7th, 2014 for mention.
