Lack Of Motivation, Reason For Rangers’ Poor Form – Media Officer
Media Officer of Rangers
FC of Enugu, Foster Chime, has blamed the team’s poor performance in the first half of 2013/2014 Globacom Premier League season on lack of motivation.
Chime told newsmen in Lagos that the state government owed the players and this affected their overall performance in the first part of the season.
Rangers International of Enugu currently occupies the 14th position on the Globacom League table.
Rangers FC amassed a total of 24 points after winning seven matches out of 18 played, with three draws and eight losses, as the season was about to go into a mid – season break.
Chime, however, said he believed that salaries of the players had already been approved by the government and he hoped the team would improve after they were paid.
“I believe everything works hand in hand, the players performed woefully and below standard in the first phase of the season because they were not paid.
“Motivation goes a long way in collective performance of the team, but I know that things are about to turn around for good because I know the payments will soon come through,’’ he said.
The media officer said that the players would do their best in the second stanza of the season.
“We will all come together as a team and do better; looking at the log, a few wins can change the table and we will do that,’’ he said.
Chime assured supporters that the team would work extra hard to meet up with the club’s initial target.
