Kickboxing Association To Honour Rivers Sports Director, Others

The World Kickboxing
Association, WKA, is set to honour stakeholders who have contributed to the development of the sport in Nigeria. The stakeholders will be recognised at the forthcoming WKA championship scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in August this year.
Representative of the association in Nigeria, Sensei Victor Bassey said that the honour was in recognition of their tremendous support towards the development of the sport in the country.
Those to be honoured include, the Rivers State Director of Sports, Sir Daobu Harry, the first person to inaugurate the sport in Nigeria, and board member, Nigeria Kickboxing Federation (NKBF), Monima Daminabo.
Others are the Delta State Sports Director and Director of Sports Benue State. Sensei Bassey said that the honour would be conferred on them at the “Niger Delta King of the Ring,” championship, scheduled to hold from 28th to 29th August, this year.
He stated that seven local and five national officials were expected to officiate during the programme.
Sensei Bassey also said that cash prizes to be won are N100.00, N70.00 and N30,00 for first, second and third positions, respectively.
