Farmer Remanded For Alleged Breach Of Trust

A 30-year-old
farmer, Boni Sabi, was last Monday arraigned in an Okuta Area court in Kwara State for alleged breach of  trust.
The Police Prosecutor, PC  Femian Mohammed,  told  the court that the accused on Nov.  10, 2013, collected  N40, 000 from one Sulaiman Ibrahim with a promise to deliver 10 bags of maize to him within three weeks.
Mohammed said   the complainant, who reported the matter at the Okuta Police Station, alleged  that  the accused  reneged on his promise  inspite of   pleas by the complainant.
The accused, a resident of Bankubu Village in  Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara,  was arraigned  on a one-count-charge of breach of trust  which contravened section 311 of the Penal Code Law.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charge.
The trial judge, Malam Ahmed Yahaya, ordered the remand of  the accused   in police custody till today  when judgment would  be delivered.
