College Seeks Assistance To Boost Training
The Rivers State College
of Health Sciences and Technology has appealed for assistance to boost training in their Biomedical Engineering Technology and Pest Control Management Departments.
Acting Provost of the College, Dr Charles Amadi, who made this appeal in a chat at the college called on government and well meaning individuals to help provide equipment and materials, for the training of students in Biomedical Engineering and Pest Control Management.
He explained that the school had for the last three years undertaken the training in these departments, which he said would enhance the work in hospitals and other health facilities.
According to him, ‘in biomedical engineering technology, we train technicians on how to repair medical equipment and fabricate too, we also have a programme we call Pest Control Management to train skilled persons who can take care of fumigation in hospitals and control pests around the hospitals and other health facilities”.
“The programme is open to all as long as they have their five credits in relevant subjects and entry is by application”, he continued.
Dr Amadi used the opportunity to solicit assistance from government, corporate organisations and well meaning individuals, who can afford to provide the materials and equipment, needed appropriately to train the students.
He added that the school runs a Higher National Diploma programme and is currently awaiting the accreditation of the National Board of Technical Education.
