CJ Lauds Judiciary Workers’ Diligence
The Anambra Chief
Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi, has commended the staff of the state judiciary for their diligence to work despite the risk involved in doing so.
Umeadi made the commendation last Tuesday in Awka while declaring open a two-day workshop for officers between grade level seven and 14 to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the workforce.
“Anambra State Government is working to improve the welfare of workers and upgrade the infrastructure in the judiciary with the construction of a new judiciary complex.
“I urge you to pay serious attention to the lectures as it will help to enhance your productivity in your respective duties,’’ he said.
In her remarks at the workshop entitled, “Towards a better administration of Justice”, the Chief Registrar, Mrs Doris Ezeani, said the dearth of judges was hampering efficient and quick dispensation of justice in the state.
She noted that the state currently has 17 judges, and needed no fewer than 35 to handle more cases and reduce pending matters in courts.
She commended judges in the state for their hard work, and described them as the best in the country.
Some of the lectures presented at the seminar included, “Ethics and Code of Conduct for Judiciary Staff’’, and “Effective Communication in the court Administration’’.
