The lawmaker said that Amaechi has never denied any member of the state legislature the benefit of nominating and executing constituency projects, as it was in line with the administration’s policy of putting the people first.
He said that the new Bonny Women’s Hall was conceived by his office to not only improve the fortune of Bonny women but to give a facelift to the old Bonny Township.
Hon. Pepple also attributed the successful completion of all his constituency projects in the area to the support and cooperation of political office holders in the area.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker has presented 20 Deep Freezers, 10 crutches and wheel chairs, welding machines and wooden canoes to some indigenes of Bonny.
Hon. Pepple explained that, the gesture, which was under his Direct Economic Empowerment programme (DEEP) was to check poverty in the area.
According to him, “the programme is designed to reach out to people directly without any preference or interest.
It is deep rooted in kindness , compassion and love”.
Also speaking, the state Commissioner for Transport, Hon. George Tolofari described the gesture as first of its kind in Bonny.
Hon. Tolofari attributed it to the developmental efforts of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi particularly in Bonny, noting that political leaders of the area have not made any mistake pitching their tents with the governor in the All Progressives congress (APC).
Earlier in her address, the president of Bonny Women Patriotic Movement (BWPM), Ambassador Nne Furo Kurubo, described the ceremony as historic in the annals of Bonny Kingdom.
“We are all gathered primarily at the instance of our son, Honourable Aye A. Pepple of the Rivers State House of Assembly, with Bonny Women Patriotic Movement as the Lucky recipients of a benevolent action”, she said.
Ambassador Kurubo said that Hon. Aye Pepple has fulfilled his promise without any financial input from the women.
She used the occasion to call on the Bonny local Government Council to provide security at the hall to prevent it from being vandalized.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of a plaque to the lawmaker by the movement as a Mark of appreciation.
