Tambuwal Preaches Unity Among Nigerians
The Speaker of the House
of Representatives, Rep. Aminu Tambuwal, has called on Nigerians to unite to confront the challenges facing the country.
Tambuwal made the call in Bauchi at a leadership colloquium and unveiling of Chigari Foundation, an NGO organised by a former Minister of State for Health, Dr Muhammed Pate.
The speaker, who was represented by Mr Nasiru Ibrahim, a member of the National Conference, said only a united nation can confront the challenges.
“Nigeria is facing serious challenges that require commitment of all tiers of government,” he said, advising Nigerians to respect the law of the country.
He said, “we cannot be a lawless society and expect that we are going to have a good leader.
“The challenges we have today are so enormous and we have to change our culture and also correct our attitude”.
In his speech, Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State, said that to be a good leader, one must have the will, passion, zeal and honesty to succeed.
Yuguda urged Nigerian leaders to be sincere, committed and focused to be able to carry out their duties for Nigeria’s progress.
“For a leader to succeed, he must have the zeal, the passion, sincerity, commitment, but if you do not have all these, you will end up a failure.
“It is a fundamental issue for one to be sincere, honest and transparent so we can get to where we are going in this country,” he said.
