Rivers Police Vow To Fight Crime
The Rivers State
Police command has restated its avowed commitment to fight crime and other social vices in the state, even as it has solicited the cooperation of members of the state.
In a statement signed by the acting spokesperson of the command, ASP Grace Iringe-Koko, the police said it was determined and battle-ready to maintain and sustain peace in the state.
The statement enjoined members of the public as well as residents of the state to oblige the police with any useful and timely information that would help it fight crimes and other criminal activities in the state.
It however, observed with great concern and dismay that greater population of the citizens residing in the state were not security conscious and called on the general public to be mindful of the kind of people that live and visit their neighbour-hood, occupation, nationality, social life and church activities as well as observe objects (stationed or moving) such as parked vehicles, abandoned bags etc within their vicinity.
The statement while expressing appreciation to the good people of the state for their support and cooperation to the command in the fight against crime urged them to know that security is a collective responsibility and should not be left in the hands of the security operatives alone.
