Plans Underway To Showcase Nollywood Films In Germany

posal has it that preparations are in top gear for the Nollywood film festival in Germany, a platform to showcase made in Nigeria films.
The four-day festival is slated for September this year at the prestigious Film Forum Hochst VHS Cinema in Frankfurt Am Main Germany from 11th to 14th September 2014. The festival is initiated by a renowned film maker, Isaac 130ya. The Nollywood actor, who is popularly known by his movie, Love in Berlin, said the award will culminate in an award ceremony where Nigerians who have contributed to the growth of the industry would be recognised.
During the award event known as Nollywood E-Golden Awards, NEGA 2014 which will come with a gala night, stand-up comedians and music stars within Nigeria and in the Diaspora are expected to perform at the event.
The festival aims to create a platform that will facilitate an opportunity for Nigerian directors, actors, producers and journalists to interact with their European counterparts about the nature and future of Nollywood and the movie industry generally. It is expected to be both pedagogic and stimulating platform for intercultural dialogue and international exposure.
The Nollywood week/NEGA Awards Germany, which is an annual event is dedicated to showcase the best of Nollywood to the German audience in order to foster international trading and exchange opportunities in this largely untapped market. It will feature two feature length films screening daily, opening night cocktail attended by Nollywood directors/actors, German/Nigerian experts, African movie premiere and the screening of two outstanding Nollywood movies daily and the first colloquium on African films.
