NURTW, Govt To Partner On 2015 Polls

The National Union
of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Delta State Chapter, will collaborate with the state government and security agencies to provide logistics for the conduct of the 2015 elections in the state.
The Chairman of the union, Chief Ifeanyi Obi, made the statement in Abuja in an interview with newsmen.
He said that the union was ready to assist the various arms of government in the state to conduct peaceful elections.
He said the union would partner with federal and state governments as well as relevant agencies across the country to improve the wellbeing of the people of the state.
“The union will also assist in the dissemination of information on government policies and programmes to its members, thereby serving as ambassadors to the government”, he said.
Obi advised members of the union to shun election malpractice and violence before and during the elections, adding that they should not run foul of the laws of the land.
He commended the Delta State Government for selling commercial vehicles to members of the union at subsidised rate.
