NNL Spectatorship Increase Excites Team Manager

The Team Manager, City
of David United of Lagos, Victor Akinmoyo, has said that spectatorship has increased in the Nigeria National League (NNL) as result of improved officiating.
Akinmoyo told newsmen in Lagos that referees in the NNL have been impressive, compared with the 2012/2013 season.
He said that should the officiating continue to improve, a lot of fans would be coming to stadia to watch their teams play, whether home or away.
“Officials have been good thus far and I have observed an increase in the spectatorship at stadia due to this.
“People now know that they will be coming to watch good football with little or no biases from the referee— which is a good thing,” Akinmoyo said.
He said, however, that a factor militating against large number of spectators in stadia was because some NNL matches clash with some key Nigeria Premier League and English Premier League matches.
“I wish there is a way that the NNL board can ensure that NNL matches do not clash with key matches of the English league and those of the Nigeria Premier League.
“This is because it is also affecting the level at which spectators come to watch matches,” he said.
COD United is on the twelfth position in the division B league log with 15 points after 12 matches.
