LG Boss Charges Queen On Talents Dev

Harcourt Centenary queen, Rivers State, Miss Theodora Atako has been advised to discover youths with talents and guide them to become agents of societal change and contribute to the development of the state and the nation at large.
Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Barr Reginald Ukwuoma gave the advice when the Port Harcourt Centenary Queen and the Centenary Management Team paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Okehi the headquarters of Etche Local Government Area, recently.
Ukwuoma said that the advice became very important due to the emerging criminal activities and other social vices being perpetrated by youths across all parts of the country noting that Rivers youths are creative and enterprising and their talents could be harnessed to enhance the development of the state.
He urged the beauty queen to pay more considerations to those youths in the local areas and give them opportunity to be part of her pet projects adding that an idle mind is the workshop of the devil.
According to him, the council would support the queen in her pet project which is targeted towards the development of the youths in the state adding that the council would continue to support all ventures aimed at bringing development in the society.
The council boss solicited the inclusion of youths from the area adding that Etche is the second oil producers in the state.
Also speaking, the vice chairperson of the council, Mrs Sotonye Onyeso who was a member of the panel of judges that selected the reigning queen, said the council was very happy to receive the team considering the rigorous way the selection process went.
In her own contribution, the leader of the team, Mrs Ibifuro George said they were at the chairman’s office to present the Port Harcourt Centenary queen to the chairman and urged the council boss to assist the queen to achieve her pet project.
Presenting her pet project proposal to the council boss, the Port Harcourt Centenary queen said her aim of majoring in the pet project was to capture the mindsets of youth within the ages of 10-30, adding that youths of the state are very creative with many talents.
