FG Distributes 30 Buses To Unions In MDAs
The Federal Govern
ment has distributed 30 buses to support union activities in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
This is contained in a statement issued last Tuesday in Abuja by Mohammed Manga, Assistant Director, Media Relations in the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF).
The statement said that the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Aji, handed the keys of the buses to the permanent secretaries in the presence of union representatives of various MDAs.
He said that the presentation of the buses was a further demonstration of President Goodluck Jonathan’s desire to provide welfare to the civil servants.
The statement said that the Federal Executive Council approved the purchase of 30 buses in December 2013.
It said that the buses were specifically allocated to the MDAs to facilitate union activities and to ease staff movement in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government.
It said that the beneficiaries of the buses include; Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Trade Union
Congress of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Health and Federal Ministry of Education.
Others are Ministries of Interior, Justice, Finance, Environment, Housing, Lands and Urban Development and Women Affairs.
The Ministres of Culture and Tourism, Labour and Productivity, Trade and Investment, Defence, Works, Agriculture, Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) are beneficiaries.
Others are the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) and the Civil Service Commission.
It said that other programmes being implemented by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation was to improve the well-being of civil servants which include Pension Administration Reforms, Review of Group Life Insurance.
The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Digital Service Centre and Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Programme are also included.
