About 10 days after his abduction, the whereabouts of the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Chairman in Rivers State, Barrister Awori Miller is yet to be known.
Sources from the  Local government Council said that the kidnappears were yet to establish contact with the family.
Meanwhile, a Commissioner in the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Allen Mbadiwe Ewoh, has pleaded with the kidnappers to urgently release the local government chairman.
Speaking in an interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt, Chief Ewoh, who is the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West, described Barrister Miller as a gentleman who deserves no such treatment.
He said that, the absence of the council Chairman within the past 10 days or so has adversely affected the administration of the local government council, stressing that the council boss must be released to enable him go back to his seat, and continue the good work of developing the area.
“We have not seen such inhuman act for a long time in the state, where a harmless and innocent council chairman going about his normal business would just be kidnapped and incarcerated for over a week”.
He said that those who kidnapped him must release him, stressing that keeping him away from his family for weeks was not in the interest of anybody.
The Commissioner, however, expressed confidence in the ability of the security agencies to bring the kidnappers to book, and pledged the support of the people to efforts to secure his freedom.
