Director Tasks Kungfu Association On Experienced Coaches

The Techical Director of
the Nigeria of the Nigeria Wushu Kungfu  Federation, Micheal Oladeinde,     has advised kungfu associations to engage the services of knowledgeable coaches, to ensure the development of the sport at the grassroots.
Oladeinde told newsmen in Lagos that taking such step would ensure that budding talents were nurture in line with latest trends in the sport.
“The  idea is to make sure that upcoming athletes get the required training that will make them to excel in the sport.
“But ifthey are not under the supervision of knowledgeable coaches, it will affect the development of budding talents.”
He said that plans were on to organise regular refresher courses to update coaches and referees with latest technique in the sport.
The director added that inclusion of the sport in the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival would increase the profile of the sport in the country.
The festival tagged “Paradise Games” Would hold from November 23 to December 3 in Calabar, Cross River.
“We are happy that wushu kungfu is back in the festival, this inclusion will re-inform the public a out the sport and also provide the needed platform for the sport to thrive,” he said.
Oladeinde appealed to corporate bodies to help bankroll some of the federation’s programmes for the year.
