Director Arraigned For Conspiracy
The Managing Director
of Chapel Links Services based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Festus Nwoke, has been arraigned before a Port Harcourt Senior Magistrate Court presided over by Daisy N. Wanjoku, for conspiracy and other criminal charges on Charge Sheet Number PMC/231C/14.
The accused person, Festus Nwoke, 32, is standing trial on two count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Police Prosecuting Officer, Sgt. Ikosi Omanoye told the court that the accused person and one other Grace Etim(f) now at large on the 24th day of March, 2014 at No. 15b William Jumbo Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did conspire among themselves to commit felony to wit: stealing.
The police prosecutor further alleged that the accused person, Festus Nwoke and Grace Etim(f) now at large on the same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did steal the sum of three million, five hundred thousand (N3,500.000) naira and Jewelries valued at (N1,000,000) naira, properties of one Mrs Joy Dagogo Jack.
He averred that the accused person committed an offence punishable under section 516 (A)(a) and Section 390 (a) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol:11 Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
The accused pleaded not guilty on all the charges brought against him.
In her ruling, the presiding senior Magistrate, Daisy N. Wanjoku, granted the accused person bail of N500,000 with on surety in like sum. She directed that the surety must be a civil servant in the state civil service residing within the jurisdiction of the court and that the surety must swear affidavit of means while the prosecutor shall verify the residence of the surety, the case was later adjourned to 19/5/2014 for continuation.
