Coach Explains Rivers Angels, Amazons’ Match Postponement

The week 11 fixtures of the
2014 Women Premier League match scheduled to hold at the weekend between Nasarawa Amazons and Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt has been postponed to 1st June this year.
The match which was supposed to be the opening of one of the second stanza of the league with Angels FC visiting host, Amazons FC was shifted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The assistant coach of Rivers Angels, Whyte Ogbonda, said the postponement was due to Super Falcons match with Rwanda at the weekend.
I think, the shift in date was due to the absence of some of our players in the various clubs team, the girls are presently representing their father-Land with the National team, (Super Falcon).
He however, said that the team resumed training for the second round of the league as they prepare to visit Nasaraw Amazons FC on the 4th of next month.
Ogbonda, stated that the team is determined to hit its target this soccer season.
It would be recalled that the Angels defeated the Amazons 1-0, now leading with 24 points from 10 matches played so far.
