Catholic Organisation Honours Dame Judith Amaechi

organisation Holy Cross Catholic Parish, Owerri Archdiocese, Imo State recently conferred award of Ezi Ada Imo State on the wife of the Governor of Rivers State, Dame Judith Amaechi.
Dame Amaechi was recognised for her sterling quality and welfare programme for indigent and less-privileged families in the state.
The organizers of the award said the programme was in fulfilment of God’s purpose for the church.
Receiving the award on behalf of the governor’s wife, Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government, Hon. Maureen Tamuno said, Dame Amaechi is inspired by the increasing rate of poverty among families in the state.
She stated that her mass literacy programme in the rural communities have established 36 temporary structures within the twenty three local government areas.
She added that she would continue to initiate poverty alleviation programme for families and called on the church to help in re-directing and re-orientating the minds of Nigerians especially the youths to give them a sense of belonging.
Dame Amaechi further stated that the award from the Church of God will inspire her to a greater height.
