A players scout with
the Professional Sports International, Akande Lukeman, has said that the Turkey-based organisation has discovered 28 talented players from the under-15 football competition organised by the African Sporting Initiative.
Lukeman told newsmen in Abuja at weekend that the 28 players would be called to a camp at a later date for trials.
He said some of the players would be dropped after the trial, while the best players would be admitted into a football school in Turkey.
“Actually we have picked some talented players during this competition. We have 28 players already and we hope to pick more during the final match, although we need only about 30 players for the trials.
“During the trials, which will be held in Lagos, we will drop some and travel with the finally selected players.
“Our organisation has a football academy for young players and we will enrol them in a secondary school for them to continue their education career and with football as well,’’ the  scout said.
Lukeman however said the parents of the players were usually informed about the programme, and they had always not had any problem with the arrangements.
He said seven players were admitted into a football academy after a similar competition last year, stating that they were yet to ascertain the number to be taken this year.
