Peters who spoke with newsmen in Lagos added that the body had organised a tournament for the players as part of its build up programme.
The body organised PSPAN’s Open National Championships at the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja.
The tournament served off from March 24 to 30.
“We are preparing, we staged that competition to asses our players, the tournament really showed each of the players where they need to work on.
“The tournament was the first of its kind this year and it was well attended, although we are yet to organise more but our players have been training.
“They understand the importance of this tournament, we are hosting and we want to make our country proud.
“We appeal to our players to take their training seriously and diets too,’’ Peters added.
Players and teams from 15 countries would participate in the competition, scheduled to hold from May 4 to 9 in Abuja.
The last edition of the tournament took place in Windhoek, Namibia, with Nigeria among the 12 countries that participated in the championships.
