Senator Donates 18-Seater Bus To Chiefs Council

The senator representing
Rivers East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Chief George Thompson Sekibo, has donated a brand new 18-seater bus to the Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs.
The Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Council of Chiefs, Chief Jonah Tamuno Furubowarifama disclosed this during the installation of the senator as the chief of Etem War Canoe House of Ogu, held at the town square last  Saturday.
Chief Furubowarifama , said  the gesture is most welcomed from an illustrious son of the community that has the interest and love for the Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs which he had belonged now, and enjoined him to keep up the spirit.
He further said that the gesture was worthy of emulation and commendable as it would held the chiefs in their official engagements outside the community, and on behalf  of the Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs thanked Senator Sekibo Etem for his magnanimity.
In a telephone chat, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs, Chief Mark Daso Derefaka, also expressed appreciation to the donor whom he described as a true son and lover of the community saying the gesture would further enhance transportation of the chiefs during official engagements.
Chief Derefaka said with the one donated by Ogu/Bolo Local Government Council the chiefs, could now conveniently move from one place to another.
He also prayed God to replenish the senator’s purse and grant  him good health and courage in his endeavour and as a traditional chief of Ogu community.
The chairman, who was full of joy assured that the bus would be jealously  protected and utilized, and also commended the newly  installed chief of Etem War Canoe House of Ogu on behalf of the Ogu chiefs council, and assured him of their co-operation.
