NTTF Plans Courses For Referees, Others

he Nigeria Table Tennis
Federation (NTTF) has said it had concluded plans to conduct courses for umpires, referees and tournament organisers.

The arrangement would be under the auspices of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

The programme is slated to run from June 14 to June 21 at the Sir Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun, Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The NTTF secretary, Chinedu Ezealah-Ogundare told newsmen that all the state table tennis associations, the Armed Forces and the Para-military, had been written in respect of the courses.

She said that all associations would be expected to send in the names of qualified candidates for the courses on or by April 23.

“Accepted nominees will be communicated to by April 30,’’ she explained.

Ezealah-Ogundare added that there would be three programmes, considering the level of those in the sport — the Basic Referee Course (BRC); the Advance Umpires Training (AUT); and the Tournament Organisation Courses (TOC).

“Each programme has its own requirement for participation and one needs to meet the basic requirements,’’ she said.
