Kenya To Host Italy In U-20 Football Friendly
Italy’s national Under-20
football team will play its Kenyan counterpart in a friendly match in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, on April 16, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) said.
The visitors will also play the Under-19 side of the 2013 Kenyan Premier League champion Gor Mahia, FKF President Sam Nyamweya said.
The Italian contingent, headed by Italian Football Federation (FIGC) President Mario Macalli, is due to jet in on April 14.
Kenya will use the match to test its strength ahead of the 2015 Africa Youth Championships first round second leg qualifier against Tanzania on April 26 in Dar es Salaam.
The first leg in Machakos, 70km east of Nairobi, ended goalless. The winner of the first round ties will meet Nigeria in the second leg in November.
While in Kenya, Macalli, who will be accompanied by two vice-presidents of the Italian Football Federation and a number of Serie A club officials, will seal a cooperation deal with the FKF.
