Islanders Basketball Club, Seyi Ayodele, has cited discipline and team work as driving their recent form in the DStv League.

Islanders are currently at the summit of the Atlantic Conference 2014 DStv League with four wins out of five games played so far.

Ayodele an assistant coach of the team told newsmen in Lagos that new techniques and the approach adopted by Coach Lateef Erinfolami could also be credited for the team’s recent form.

“We are experiencing new techniques from our coach. New techniques, approach and motivation are being employed to make us better prepared for each game.

“Coach Erinfolami’s wealth of experience has also proven to be a motivating factor in our recent form. We will work hard to impress him and our fans,’’ he said

According to Ayodele, the club is poised to only go upward in their exploits in the ongoing season.

Islanders had bounced from a loss to their city rivals, Dodan Warriors, to beat Oluyole Warriors, 68-55 in week five encounter in Lagos.

“We are playing well because of the unity among us; we have a coach that calls for discipline as the core path to achieving success.

“We also have a team that adheres to working hard and also believe in one another.

“We all play with a common goal, which is to win and we know other seven teams in the conference also want this as well,’’ said Ayodele who is also a player.

According to him, the team will only continue to grow and that exactly is our target until we make the final eight at the end of the season.
