Consultant Harps On Growth Of Golf
A golf consultant, Samuel
Emehelu, has identified inadequate planning by the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) as the factor militating against the growth of amateur golf in the country.
Emehelu told newsmen in Lagos that the lull in the NGF was also basically responsible for the stunted growth of amateur golf.
“One of the key factors that can enhance the profile of amateur golf is for the NGF to get its acts together; and I think their greatest challenge is planning.
“The professional golf in the country is busy with crowded programmes at the expense of the amateur golf,” he said.
The consultant called for viable investors to partner with the body to help amateur golfers to execute their programmes for the year.
“The amateur golfers are just there with no competitions and nothing seems to be happening.
